The name Soroptimist was coined from the Latin soror meaning sister, and optima meaning best. Soroptimist is perhaps best interpreted as "the best for women". From the founding of the first Soroptimist club in Oakland, CA in 1921 by Violet Richardson, through the present day where over 1,000 clubs are flourishing throughout the world, Soroptimists have continued to strive to achieve the "best for women" in every sphere of their lives.
At Soroptimist International of Helena, we are dedicated to creating a world where women can thrive and achieve their full potential. Our organization has been at the forefront of supporting women through education, community service, and leadership programs. Every project we undertake is driven by our passion to uplift and empower women in all aspects of life. By becoming a member, you will join a vibrant community committed to making meaningful changes and fostering lifelong friendships. Together, we can build a brighter future, one woman at a time.
